The world is going through turbulent times atm.

It was also World 🌍 Mental Health Day recently.

It’s a stark reminder to look after our mental health and also be mindful of others who may be struggling with theirs.

But looking after our mental health should really be practised every single day.

Here are some things that help me get back to light🌄and to balance🙏 I hope they help you too, esp. if you’re in a tough spot right now.

1. Hold on

Storms will come, but they always eventually blow themselves out, this is their nature. As much as good times don’t last forever, neither do bad times.

In real life, when a storm is approaching, we seek solid, safe shelter until it passes, which it will. So hold on.

2. Prioritise good sleep 🛌

You cannot function without quality sleep. Sleep affects EVERYTHING, our decision-making, emotional state, judgement and ability to process things (positively or negatively).

3. Expect good things to happen

Expecting the best outcome in all things, opens your mind to situations, opportunities, inspiration, solutions, help and ideas you may never have received in a closed, fixed and worrying state of mind

4. Receive the good❤️‍🔥 reject the bad ✋

You may have to deal with toxic people/situations sometimes in life. Just remember, you don’t have to bring them inside you.

If someone crosses the line, set your boundary firmly and make it known. Your inner peace 🙏 is a sanctuary reserved only for what you choose, everything else that doesn’t align with our values, stays strictly outsideâś‹

5. Improve your physical strength by just 1% đź’Ş

My social anxiety and depression were lifted once my gym was reopened after lockdown and I could start working out again. If you don’t have access to a gym, you can still workout in your own home, use your stairs or go for a brisk walk or light run.

Try to improve your best performance each day by 1%, you’ll be surprised at how much it affects your well-being and mood as over time, your progress compounds & builds. Being healthy and staying that way, is a lifestyle project.

We insure our homes, spring clean them and take great care of running our businesses, looking after trinkets & objects we love like jewellery, cars, bicycles and clothes, and yet our mental health is something we often take for granted.

I wish you a healthy and happy day today. You’ve made it this far into the year – let’s all pull together to make the remainder of 2023 as positive, healthy and happy as can be for ourselves, and others❤️‍🔥
