Is Feeling Upset, Impatient and Frustrated a Good Sign?

It’s been one helluva year so far hasn’t it?

Goddamit, feels like only last week it was the start of the year, and now we’re nearing the end of it.

Can I be honest? I was feeling like a real loser a few days ago.

I was suddenly overwhelmed thinking about the things I wish I’d done and also really upset with myself about the things I hadn’t yet achieved.

It was a dark place.

I think we all have a tendency to be a bit hard on ourselves at times.

What helped me through it, were a few realisations, which I’d like to share with you now.

Feeling upset, impatient and frustrated can be a good sign.

Because it shows a clear dissatisfaction with your present situation. And that’s a powerful indicator that something may need to change.

Your body and psyche are literally screaming as one for you to grow, move, do something, anything! Just get us the hell outta here and onto a better (physical or mental) place.

It can be a road sign pointing you in the direction of the growth you need.

The day you feel complete indifference and apathy is also the day you’ve given up.

Though I don’t relish or look forward to feeling bad about my progress in life I now also welcome them as healthy signs that I still give a s**t and want something better.

Those negative feelings then turn into something positive – affirming that you’re still moving forward and still growing.

You HAVE to be amongst people that are aligned with your dreams.

As strong and determined as you are, you cannot achieve your goals completely on your own. No one can.

Our friends, family and loved ones may want the best for us but they may also not be best equipped to advise and support us. Their default setting is to ‘protect’  and despite best intentions can sometimes offer advice that can stifle and suffocate our dreams.

Tap into a support network, an online community, a group or a mentor who understands exactly what you’re trying to achieve and even better if they’ve gone through it themselves and can advise you based on first-hand experience.

And stay plugged in because these support networks will help you remain focused, uplifted and energised esp. when times get tough.

Before I go, I want to congratulate you and I want you to congratulate YOURSELF for making it this far.

You’ve probably done and achieved more than you give yourself credit for. It’s been a f*****g tough year and yet you’re still here, alive and kicking.

Cheers 🥂 You Rock.

‘I don’t have that much time’…yes you do!

One of the things that used to mentally hold me back from committing to anything, was wondering where I would find the time to even do it.

In the case of building my online business, I felt overwhelmed because I was already working a full-time job + trying to have a social life outside of work hours.

I would often tell myself…

“I don’t have that much time…”

Which tbh, turned out to be me just bull*******g myself because what it really came down to was prioritisation. The things I made time for were the things I chose to give importance to.

I had one-hour lunches at work, which I’d often spend ‘relaxing’ watching YouTube vids.

At the end of the workday and after the gym, I’d get home tired and hungry but after dinner, I’d spend the evening ‘Netflix-ing’ till I got sleepy.

All in all, I worked out that I had at least 4 hours every single workday (or 20 hours a week) to do something more productive to get my a** closer to my dreams than I’d been doing, and that’s not counting weekends and mornings before I started work.

Yep, I had lots of time. I just chose to use it (and not use it) in certain ways😅

I think that’s true for all of us {!firstname_fix} —–} and the truth is, we will always have time, for things we make time for.

Btw, I respect that you may have a really busy schedule and maybe 30 minutes a day might be all you have. If that’s the case, I still say to you…use it.

Use it to invest and build something positive for yourself.

Whether that’s working on your body, your mind or your finances through working out, reading books, enhancing your knowledge, studying a course, working with a mentor or actually building a business that will enable you to live the life of your dreams later on.

A strong test to help you decide if something is worth your time is to ask yourself…”is this thing I’m doing bringing me any closer to my dreams, or farther from it?”

I believe we all have an internal GPS that always know the right answer to that one, we just sometimes choose to ignore it.

Stay strong, stay well and speak to you again soon…

One of the most POWERFUL gifts you can give yourself…

Writing and playing my original music used to give me lots of fear and anxiety. It’s a very scary thing to put your heart and soul out there for everyone to see.

They say a picture says a thousand words, well, this is one of my favourite pics to say that with!

The fear was so strong that day, alone onstage, I felt physically ill and sick.

Me playing infront of a large crowd

Finding the strength to face my fears time and time again, is how I developed courage and love. The courage to love and accept myself no matter what.

If you can learn to love the ‘process’ of evolving and developing yourself, no matter how long it takes, you’ll be at peace, because you’ll be doing what you were put on this earth to do.

I learned that happiness comes from a place of being true and honest with yourself.

To stand in the light of your truth is one of the greatest and most powerful gifts you can give to yourself and to others.

Don’t hesitate to walk the path that feels right for you, you’ll know what that is better than anyone, because it will feel good. It will feel right.

And if you’re still not sure what that is? it’s simple. Think of the exact opposite of what makes you feel bad and unhappy 😉

Take small steps with the most do-able things you can do now that will set you on the path towards living your truth and walking a path in alignment with your life’s passion. That’s the only way you’ll ever be whole. That’s the only way you’ll ever be truly happy.

Don’t wait. Start small if you have to. Just startAnd keep going

When the time comes, you won’t have to move mountains…they’ll make way for you.

If you know what your passion is? even better, go hard and go all the way with it. Never stop being true to yourself and doing what you love. The world is a better place because of you!
