‘I don’t have that much time’…yes you do!

One of the things that used to mentally hold me back from committing to anything, was wondering where I would find the time to even do it.

In the case of building my online business, I felt overwhelmed because I was already working a full-time job + trying to have a social life outside of work hours.

I would often tell myself…

“I don’t have that much time…”

Which tbh, turned out to be me just bull*******g myself because what it really came down to was prioritisation. The things I made time for were the things I chose to give importance to.

I had one-hour lunches at work, which I’d often spend ‘relaxing’ watching YouTube vids.

At the end of the workday and after the gym, I’d get home tired and hungry but after dinner, I’d spend the evening ‘Netflix-ing’ till I got sleepy.

All in all, I worked out that I had at least 4 hours every single workday (or 20 hours a week) to do something more productive to get my a** closer to my dreams than I’d been doing, and that’s not counting weekends and mornings before I started work.

Yep, I had lots of time. I just chose to use it (and not use it) in certain ways😅

I think that’s true for all of us {!firstname_fix} —–} and the truth is, we will always have time, for things we make time for.

Btw, I respect that you may have a really busy schedule and maybe 30 minutes a day might be all you have. If that’s the case, I still say to you…use it.

Use it to invest and build something positive for yourself.

Whether that’s working on your body, your mind or your finances through working out, reading books, enhancing your knowledge, studying a course, working with a mentor or actually building a business that will enable you to live the life of your dreams later on.

A strong test to help you decide if something is worth your time is to ask yourself…”is this thing I’m doing bringing me any closer to my dreams, or farther from it?”

I believe we all have an internal GPS that always know the right answer to that one, we just sometimes choose to ignore it.

Stay strong, stay well and speak to you again soon…

A story about my Grandfather & Redundancy…

My Grandfather was a sea captain of large commercial ships. A proud man of few words.

He was looking forward to a comfortable retirement with more than enough money in his pension fund to look after his family.  Sadly, that’s not how his story went.

A few years before his intended official retirement, his company ran into financial trouble and eventually went into bankruptcy.  His pension fund was wiped out. His company could just about afford to pay him his final month’s salary.

My Grandfather passed away a few years later, in his bed while taking a nap, he just never woke up again.  We still say to each other in our family, that he died of a broken heart.

My grandfather didn’t have the opportunities we have today, to pivot and use technology to our advantage in reclaiming our lives and creating our own financial destinies without having to rely on companies and employers for our future.

It makes me sad sometimes to think how he must have felt, lonely, lost, afraid, frustrated and broken…he just never told us, as he was trying to be strong.

I’ve personally witnessed good friends, colleagues and some of my close family members being made redundant around me today.

Often they’re people with good careers and sometimes even above-average income. They work long, hard hours, year in and year out.

They thought they were secure. Then suddenly, everything changed.

When faced with adversity, most people will either stay still and try to ride things out or hope for the best.

Most people will also try to find another job, and soldier on…with the possibility of the cycle repeating itself again.

The lessons I’ve learned from my Grandfather and people close to me today who put up with fear, frustration and conditions that don’t fulfil them…has made me incredibly passionate about what I believe in…

And that’s to tell you, from personal experience, there is another way

A way to break the cycle to allow you to create a new reality where you will never be obsolete, unappreciated, unfulfilled or in fear of being made redundant ever again.

7 Reasons Why you should Start a Business (you’re passionate about)

Mark VIllarorsa - Digital Entrepreneur and Musician

This pic is a throwback when I was invited to record a song for a charity CD in aid of mental health (something close to my heart I champion💪🙏).

It required a long tiring drive to a (beautiful) studio in Folkestone and back unpaid. But it didn’t matter to me. My ‘Why’ was more powerful.

As result of my contribution, I’ve made AWESOME new friends👭👫👬, helped spread awareness of mental health to others, and hopefully inspired people with my song.

I believe the same principle can (and should) be applied when starting your own business, and going after your dreams.

Don’t make the mistake of basing it on a fad, a trend, or just something that looks like it will make money. That’s not a strong enough ‘Why’.

Your ‘Why’ has to be powerful enough to get you out of bed on cold rainy mornings.

Powerful enough to keep you going despite not earning anything to start with.

Powerful enough to keep you going despite setbacks, discouragement, lack of support (maybe even from ones you love most).

Take it from me the ONLY way you stand a chance is if your ‘Why’ is something you’re PASSIONATE about.

So whatever that is for you – Build your Business around that. Here’s why:

Because:

  1. It’s probably your life’s calling!
  2. You will learn, grow and excel at being an awesome leader & human being building a business than you ever will just being someone’s employee.
  3. It will feel like play, rather then work.
  4. You will be Free in Spirit, Mind and Action to decide what’s best for you.
  5. Whether you make a little or a lot of money, you will inspire and help others by your example.
  6. In a big (or humble) way – You can change the world.
  7. You will be HAPPY (doing what you love tends to have that effect)😊

    Keep the love strong 💪
