How being an introvert can be an advantage in life & business

Are you an introvert?...

Here's why that's an advantage in life & business.

👉🏽Do you feel drained when standing for long periods of time in a noisy public place?

👉🏽Do you prefer reading a book in a chilled-out cafe over attending a party with loud blaring music?

👉🏽Do you enjoy the company of animals more than people?😄

If you answered yes to at least one of these questions, then my friend, you might just be an introvert (like me :))🙌🏼

Now, being an introvert isn’t a bad thing. It also doesn’t mean you’re automatically shy.

It just means you have a certain ‘time limit’ for being around energy-draining places, situations and, well…certain people😅

Seriously, being an introvert can be a superpower💪🏼 especially when it comes to starting your own business. Here’s why…

1. Introverts are great listeners.

Since we aren’t always the ones who initiate conversations, we tend to pay more attention to what people are saying. This means we pick up on nuances and details that others might miss.

As a result, we are often more empathetic and understanding towards others, which can be a huge asset in any relationship, personal, social or professional.

2. Introverts are masters of observation.

We tend to be more introspective, which means we’re always analyzing our own thoughts and behaviours. This self-awareness can be a powerful tool in business, where being able to identify our own strengths and weaknesses are keys to success.

3. Introverts are fantastic at problem-solving.

Since we’re used to spending more time alone with our thoughts, we’re often better equipped to come up with creative solutions to complex problems.

4. Introverts are excellent at researching and planning.

Since we tend to be more introspective and reflective, we often take the time to gather as much information as possible before making a decision. This means we’re great at researching trends, analyzing behaviour, and strategising.

5. Introverts are great at networking, believe it or not.

While we may not enjoy large social gatherings, we tend to prefer more meaningful one-on-one conversations. This means we can make genuine connections with people and build long-lasting relationships.

In business, personal connections can be incredibly valuable in generating partnerships, collaborations, and getting funding! ; )

6. Introverts are great at focusing and staying productive.

Since we tend to thrive in quieter environments, we’re often able to concentrate for longer periods of time. This means we can get more work done in less time, which is a huge advantage when starting your own business and juggling multiple tasks.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Ok, so I’m an introvert! How can I possibly succeed in business when all I want to do is curl up in a ball and avoid human interaction?”

Chill. Starting your own business doesn’t mean you have to become an extroverted social butterfly.

In fact, many successful entrepreneurs are introverts, Bill Gates, Warren Buffett, Mark Zuckerberg.

These guys leveraged their introverted nature to their advantage, focusing on their strengths and building a team around them to handle tasks they don’t want to deal with (send in the extroverts to deal with that😅)

Here’s another plus – the rise of technology has made it easier than ever for introverts to start their own business.

With tools like social media, email marketing, and e-commerce platforms, you can reach customers and build a brand without ever leaving your house (or changing out of your pyjamas).

So, if you’re an introvert thinking about starting your own business, embrace your superpowers💪🏼

Leverage your strengths, build meaningful 1:1 connections and focus on your goals. And remember, just because you’re not the life of the party, doesn’t mean you can’t be the life of your own business.

So smile (secretly to yourself ; )) and remember, in your own unique way, you are a powerful introvert capable of great things!

What’s the #1 killer of dreams?…

The #1 killer of dreams

Before you read this blog, I need you to buckle up, this could get rough.

Still here?😊

Ok, here goes…

Do you know what the number one killer of dreams is?…

It’s not failed ideas.

It’s not debt.

It’s not lack of money.

It’s not doubters or critics.

It’s not frustration.

It’s not overwhelm.

It’s not bad decisions.

It’s not even fear of the unknown, or making mistakes.

It’s… procrastination.

The deadly “I’ll-do-it-later virus”.

If we want something extraordinary to happen in our lives, we have to put in a certain amount of effort to make it happen.

If you don’t start, you can never get going, and if you never get going, that’s one sure way to quickly fail.

So my word of advice to you is to focus your energy solely on starting one small thing today.

  1. Take a small step and invest in a book or a course that will help you with the information and guidance you need to get going
  2. Then take another small step in actually implementing and acting on the information and guidance
  3. Then take another small step in getting constructive feedback from people you respect to see if you’re on track
  4. Then take another small step in implementing that feedback

Then, keep repeating 2, 3 & 4 over and over...

I think you get the picture.

Follow this to the letter and you will make it.

Everything you need is already inside you…what could be missing is structure, clarity and guidance to help you ‘connect the dots’ and steer you in the right direction.

Get laser-focused and take one small step forward…

You got this👊🏼

What’s your #1 job as a small business owner?

As a small business owner our job is to stay inspired

Your #1 job as a business owner is to stay in a state of inspiration.

Because when you’re inspired, you’re more productive, resourceful and creative.

When you’re creative, you can come up with new ideas for products, steer the direction of your company and look after your people (customers and employees) better.

But it’s tough to do any of that if you’re in a bad state of anxiety or mental stress, health or money issues, that can make you lose your joy for whatever reason.

And without an inspired ‘you’ at the helm doing all those positive things, your company could eventually fall apart.

This is life and these things are sometimes unavoidable.

Your job is to get back into a state of inspiration where everything is exciting and you feel like life is literally flowing from you.

So how do you get there?

It’s different for every person.

But science shows it’s not working harder – it’s actually taking TIME OFF and resting and recharging, something you’ll know a lot about if you’re an introvert like me😄

It’s something I personally try my best to maintain – a healthy work-life balance.

I tend to get renewed when I learn and do something NEW. New ideas, new products, new sights, new anything really.

How do you get into an inspired, elevated state of mind?

Let me know, I’m genuinely curious.
