The Inspiring Story of a Slave✊

Roman Colosseum

One of the reasons I love Rome is my fascination with the Colosseum, Gladiators & Spartacus.

Spartacus was a Gladiator and a slave.

His passion for freedom was so strong it allowed him not only to escape…but to grow his small band of 70 Gladiators into an army of 120,000 rebel slaves that nearly toppled Rome.

Although he was eventually defeated, it’s still an awe-inspiring testimony to the power of what passion can do.

As I stood there in the Colosseum, I thought about how Spartacus must’ve felt, shackled, beaten, overwhelmed and chained and how defeated and hopeless it must’ve felt to him at the start.

And yet, despite the impossible odds, he won his freedom and the ultimate glory which was to live and die on his own terms

I believe we all have access to that same power to do the same in our lives.

No matter how shackled, beaten, overwhelmed, hopeless or defeated we may feel at times, there is always that possibility for us to change our circumstances.

And I think as Spartacus has shown, it all starts with a burning passion.

Look at your life and dig deep to recognise what that is for you.

Being aware of what truly sets you on fire is the start of building something meaningful around it.

Your dreams and your passion could be the foundation of a business or a change you want to happen in your life.

Or it could just be something that makes you happy which you can share as a gift with others, by showing them how to enjoy it too.

Whatever your passion is, nurture its flame🔥You never know who you might be inspiring because of your light.

Even a single🕯candle can start a chain that lights a hundred thousand more.

I hope my Roman Colosseum experience has inspired you as much as it inspired me!

3 things I love about Lighthouses…and how it can help you✊

Lighthouse

I’ve always had a fascination for Lighthouses. I love how regal and noble they look perched on top of cliffs helping guide ships to safety.

When I visited Plymouth recently, seeing this particular Lighthouse made me think about some of the qualities I love and admire about them that could also be implemented into our lives.

Here are 3 things I find really cool about Lighthouses & how to use them to make Life Awesome✊

1) A Lighthouse stands strong and immovable even in the face of gales and storms

When we know what our core values are, it’s easier to stand firm, resolute, centred and at peace with ourselves.

The world and the people around us could be running around frantically but if we know what we stand for and what we believe in, it gives us natural stability, calm and a sense of security that is unshakeable.

2) Lighthouses are silent yet powerful, admired & looked up to

We don’t need to shout about our goals and achievements. If we just stay diligent and true to our life’s purpose and love the work we do, the undeniable evidence of our results will shine brightly and speak louder for themselves than we ever could.

3) Lighthouses are majestic because they’re positioned high but are also sturdy and firmly rooted to the ground

Stay humble and down to earth and proud of who you are. Honour your purpose by recognising your life’s passion and then live your life in direct alignment➡️with it.

I believe there’s no greater reward in life than knowing what your purpose is and living it in a way that benefits you and others around you.

I hope my Lighthouse experience has inspired you as much as it inspired me!

What’s Your Higher Purpose In Life?…

Higher Purpose

You see countless posts about ‘higher purpose’ on social media, numerous books have been written on this subject too.

It can be a fascinating topic of discussion.

“What’s your higher purpose in life?”

Now what if I told you, you fulfill your higher purpose in life all the time? like…

When you took time out to help a friend in need.

Or when you contributed time and money you could’ve spent on yourself towards a worthy cause that helped others instead.

Or when you sat with your mother, your father, or your child…to keep them company, sensing they were comforted and happy with your presence.

People will often equate higher purpose with a significant achievement that has to happen in their lives.

But I believe the true measure of our achievements and goals…is how we affect others positively.

Whenever you choose to act with kindness, compassion and love – in ANYTHING

Take courage and feel no fear or doubt  Because in that moment you are elevated and fully aligned with your Higher Purpose, and that part of you that makes you shine at your core: Your soul.
